Zoom has updated its AI Companion and unveiled Zoom Workplace. Both services leverage AI to streamline collaboration with colleagues.
The AI Companion can summarize meetings and prioritize tasks, with functionality accessible via voice commands.
Workplace is built on a new open platform that integrates Zoom with AI models, incorporating technologies aimed at boosting productivity and optimizing workflow.
The Ask AI Companion feature allows interaction with the AI assistant across all Zoom applications. The assistant can gather information, draft summaries, prepare for meetings, and retrieve data from integrated third-party tools. In addition to summarizing meetings, the AI will display related emails, chats, and documents on the screen.
Zoom Phone has also gained neural network support. It can prioritize urgent voicemails and extract key tasks from voicemail transcriptions. Following a meeting, the AI will suggest meeting times based on chat discussions.
The primary goal of these innovations is to enable users to focus on conversations rather than on note-taking and transcription.
Another AI service is the generation of flowcharts and mind maps in Zoom Whiteboard. The service helps summarize meetings, highlight active speakers, and add virtual backgrounds using prompts.
In addition to AI assistants, Zoom Workplace will offer access to new settings. The updated “Meetings” tab features pinned daily topics, recordings, files, and chat. The Multi-share function allows multiple participants to share their screens simultaneously.
Zoom Revenue Accelerator adds AI-generated notes on closed deals and scoring for sales negotiations.
The launch of these new products is scheduled for April and May 2024, with some available only at a regional level.
In April 2022, Zoom introduced gesture recognition for sending emojis.
