The operating profit of the company, a competitor to SK Hynix and Micron Technology, reached 53.7 trillion won ($36 billion), while analysts had anticipated 35.3 trillion won.<\/p>\n<p>The results reflect significant spending by hyperscalers to support AI operations. Meta and Alphabet <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/alphabets-q1-revenue-hits-94-7-billion-amid-ai-surge\">have planned<\/a> to increase capital expenditures.<\/p>\n<p>Some investors believe that high-bandwidth memory has moved beyond traditional boom-and-bust cycles and can demonstrate stable growth.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe pertinent question is duration: how long will the pricing power of <span data-descr=\"new generation of High Bandwidth Memory \u2014 memory with very high bandwidth\" class=\"old_tooltip\">HBM4<\/span> last, and will infrastructure spending remain sustainable?\u201d noted Dave Mazza, CEO of Roundhill Investments.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Samsung plans to \u201csignificantly\u201d increase capital investments this year and is preparing for the release of HBM4e, the next-generation memory chips for AI.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe company has limited stockpiles that do not meet client demand,\u201d stated one of the firm&#8217;s executives.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/img-23f9457f884fb31e-3153726678323053.webp\" alt=\"image\" class=\"wp-image-279329\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Expected profits of Samsung, SK Hynix, and TSMC. As a result, <span data-descr=\"Dynamic Random Access Memory \u2014 dynamic random access memory\" class=\"old_tooltip\">DRAM<\/span> becomes a key factor in the quality of AI services.<\/p>\n<p>Cloud service providers are paying for increasingly expensive memory, which is reflected in Samsung&#8217;s shares: they have risen by 88% this year following a doubling last year.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Memory Prices Set to Rise Further<\/h2>\n<p>Analysts believe Samsung&#8217;s chip division will set new profit records in the coming quarters as contract prices continue to rise amid limited supply. They cite a more than 180% increase in semiconductor exports from Korea in the first 20 days of April as evidence.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Kang, an analyst at Counterpoint Research, forecasts a 60% rise in DRAM prices this quarter compared to the previous one.
