The pickup in selling by this cohort coincided with XRP\u2019s slide from $3.3 to $2.4.<\/p>\n<p>A similar trend is visible among short-term holders: the share of coins aged one to three months has fallen from 12.9% at the start of October to 7.8% now.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, large addresses have begun to accumulate. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/ru.tradingview.com\/chart\/?symbol=BINANCE%3AXRPUSD\">TradingView<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-the-rsi-is-for-and-whether-it-suits-cryptocurrencies\">RSI<\/a> for XRP is at 51\u2014still neutral but tilting bearish. The indicator <span data-descr=\"Moving Average Convergence\/Divergence \u2014 the convergence\/divergence of moving averages\" class=\"old_tooltip\">MACD<\/span> points the same way. The nearest support area is $2.4.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Renewed debate<\/h2>\n<p>XRP\u2019s downward move, coupled with falling on-chain activity, has revived a long-running dispute over the token\u2019s fundamental value. The spark was a post by Scott Melker, host of The Wolf Of All Streets podcast.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I say this with no disrespect, looking for an actual answer. <\/p>\n<p>What is the current pitch for <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%24XRP&#038;src=ctag&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">$XRP<\/a>? The token, not Ripple the company. <\/p>\n<p>Western Union chose Solana for their stablecoin. Supporters, including XAO DAO co-founder Santiago Velez, argued the asset\u2019s primary role is to serve as a neutral, issuerless bridge currency within XRPL.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cAs a native asset, XRP carries only the market volatility characteristic of other digital assets. But this risk can be offset via efficient \u201d<\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-an-automated-market-maker\"><em>AMM<\/em><\/a><em>\u201c and minimal settlement time in operations of <span data-descr=\"the process of exchanging equivalent tokens using a single currency code\" class=\"old_tooltip\">rippling<\/span>. As far as I know, no other major L1 blockchain uses such an architecture, except for XLM (which is a fork of XRP),\u201d the expert noted. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He conceded, however, that \u201cthe coin\u2019s adoption is far from the scale at which it is promoted\u201d. In his view, most investors believe in the cryptocurrency\u2019s potential rather than its current level of use.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cThe overwhelming part of XRP\u2019s price appreciation is driven by narrative and social consensus. Not by technology, not by partnerships, but by promises of a possible future. We are witnessing the birth of the \u2018Internet of Value\u2019 in real time and hope that our assets will realize their potential,\u201d he said, stressing that this is precisely why he chose to invest in the asset. <\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The user Cripto ISO 22 <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CriptoISO22\/status\/1983675486833189372\">added<\/a> that XRP \u201cconnects all types of money\u201d, citing recent Ripple initiatives: integration with <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ripple-acquires-gtreasury-for-1-billion-to-enter-crypto-treasury-sector\">GTreasury<\/a>, the launch of <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ripples-stablecoin-capitalisation-surpasses-500-million\">RLUSD<\/a> and a partnership with Evernorth.<\/p>\n<p>The commentator Krippenreiter <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/krippenreiter\/status\/1983701201616032098\">pointed to<\/a> an additional use case\u2014institutional <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-decentralised-finance-defi\">DeFi<\/a>, where locking XRP in smart contracts could materially affect the market balance of supply and demand.<\/p>\n<p>Critics <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DBCrypt0\/status\/1983686969860165899\">countered<\/a> that the coin lacks any utility:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cXRP is needed for nothing\u2014it is only sold to pay business expenses and software development. This has nothing to do with the token\u2019s real utility.
