The Russian prosecutor&#8217;s office <a href=\"https:\/\/epp.genproc.gov.ru\/web\/proc_13\/mass-media\/news?item=91638441\">\u0441\u043e\u043e\u0431\u0449\u0430\u0435\u0442<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to investigators, in July 2022 the 38-year-old lieutenant colonel agreed to provide unrelated parties information about police actions in exchange for 2 BTC (more than $28,000). At the time of his arrest the defendant had received part of the sum, amounting to 68,000 rubles ($770).<\/p>\n<p>The Supreme Court of Mordovia sentenced the former policeman to 12 years in a strict-regime penal colony, a fine of 12.8 million rubles, and deprived him of his rank. The defendant is also prohibited from working in law enforcement for 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in October, a Moscow court arrested in absentia the third investigator <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/third-moscow-investigator-arrested-in-2718-btc-bribery-case\">\u043f\u043e \u0434\u0435\u043b\u0443 \u043e \u0432\u0437\u044f\u0442\u043a\u0435<\/a> in the amount of 2718.6 BTC from participants of the Infraud Organization hacker group.<\/p>\n<p>The principal figure \u2014 the former head of the investigative department of the committee for the Tversky District <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/media-court-seizes-1032-btc-from-wallets-of-investigator-in-the-infraud-organization-case\">Marat Tambiev<\/a> has been in custody since 2022.
