Data: <a href=\"https:\/\/finviz.com\/quote.ashx?t=COIN&#038;p=d\">Finviz<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Since the start of the year, Coinbase&#8217;s shares on Nasdaq have risen 177.3%.<\/p>\n<p>According to reporters, this is the first time a pension fund has added to its portfolio shares of companies linked to virtual currencies.<\/p>\n<p>Under its investment policy, the pension fund is not allowed to invest directly in cryptocurrencies, including due to their heightened volatility.<\/p>\n<p>Since January 2024, the Financial Services Commission of Korea<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fsc.go.kr\/no010101\/80379?srchCtgry=&#038;curPage=&#038;srchKey=&#038;srchText=&#038;srchBeginDt=&#038;srchEndDt=\">\u043e\u0431\u044f\u0436\u0435\u0442<\/a> firms to disclose holdings of digital assets on their balance sheets. This follows updated accounting rules.<\/p>\n<p>The information includes valuation and characteristics of tokens, business model and accounting policy.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2023, the Parliament of South Korea<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/south-korea-passes-bill-on-digital-assets\"> passed<\/a> a law protecting digital asset users.<\/p>\n<p>The document consolidated 19 different bills related to cryptocurrencies.
