And the recipient sells, because they need to cover expenses. I haven&#8217;t sold ETH for personal gain since 2018,&#8221; said Buterin.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>A Ethereum Foundation spokesperson told Cointelegraph that the recent transaction was simply signing over funds to a charitable foundation through the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-multisignature-what-is-a-ring-signature\">multisig<\/a>-wallet.<\/p>\n<p>In June, Buterin and Polygon head Sandeep Nailwal <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-polygon-matic\">pledged to allocate<\/a> $100 million for COVID-19 pandemic research at the Kanro Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/etherscan.io\/address\/0xB36082ba6c35490D1E167CC6Dd5ad20884A21Afb\">on-chain data<\/a>, the contract associated with the organization had in recent days been receiving confirmations for transfers from vitalik.eth.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Ethereum cofounder deposited 600 ETH worth about $1 million at the Coinbase exchange.
