In his words, national digital currencies could become tools for governments to control individuals&#8217; financial transactions. Earlier, he has repeatedly <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/robert-f-kennedy-jr-nephew-of-john-f-kennedy-criticises-the-idea-of-launching-a-digital-dollar\">criticized CBDC<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Kennedy promised on his first day in office to pardon WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and former <span data-descr=\"National Security Agency\" class=\"old_tooltip\">NSA<\/span> and <span data-descr=\"Central Intelligence Agency\" class=\"old_tooltip\">CIA<\/span> of the United States Edward Snowden. He also intends to take a closer look at the case of Silk Road creator Ross Ulbricht, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ross-ulbricht-has-served-the-first-decade-of-two-life-sentences\">who has served<\/a> the first decade of two life sentences, for which he was sentenced in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>In June the politician <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/u-s-presidential-candidate-pledges-commitment-to-bitcoin\">promised<\/a> to defend citizens&#8217; right to the unimpeded ownership and use of the first cryptocurrency. Kennedy said that in May <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/us-presidential-candidate-robert-f-kennedy-jr-acquired-14-btc-for-his-children\">he purchased 14 BTC<\/a> for his children as an investment. His candidacy was <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/jack-dorsey-backs-bitcoin-friendly-democratic-presidential-candidate-robert-francis-kennedy-jr\">endorsed<\/a> by former Twitter chief Jack Dorsey.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Kennedy <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/john-f-kennedys-nephew-criticises-cbdc-and-speaks-in-defence-of-bitcoin\">called<\/a> Bitcoin an alternative to the traditional financial system and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/robert-f-kennedy-jr-john-f-kennedys-nephew-criticised-the-sec-for-a-war-on-crypto\">criticized<\/a> American regulators for a &#8220;war on cryptocurrencies&#8221; that has led to a banking crisis in the country.<\/p>\n<p>As reported earlier, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong called the upcoming US elections a key moment for regulating digital assets.<\/p>\n<p>According to a Grayscale report, the push of cryptocurrencies among presidential candidates is driven by a forecast that Gen Z and millennial voters will make up a substantial share of the electorate \u2014 about 44%.
