This was conveyed by representatives of the Bank of Russia in a conversation with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kommersant.ru\/doc\/6252032\">Kommersant<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, users of iOS-based devices are facing problems, as Apple regularly blocks apps of sanctioned banks.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Currently, in the pilot, operations are being tested on smartphones with different operating systems, both Android and iOS,&#8221; the central bank assured.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to a representative of the Central Bank, access to digital ruble wallets is temporarily provided only through the mobile apps of banks participating in the testing of the technology.<\/p>\n<p>One of the publication&#8217;s sources said that CBDC testing on a single operating system is easier and cheaper.<\/p>\n<p>Only one unnamed participant bank confirmed that it was operating on the iOS platform.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;We have tested our digital ruble solutions on both the iOS platform and the Android platform. The functionality of these solutions does not depend on the platform,&#8221; stressed the institution&#8217;s representative.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The pilot of the digital ruble<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bank-of-russia-sets-date-for-pilot-operations-with-digital-ruble\"> started<\/a> on August 15. It involved 13 banks: Alfa-Bank, DOM.RF, Ingosstrakh Bank, VTB, Gazprombank, QIWI Bank, AK BARS Bank, MTS Bank, Promsvyazbank, Sovcombank, Sinara Bank, Rosbank and TKB Bank.<\/p>\n<p>VTB and Sinara Bank noted that more than 70% of their clients use Android smartphones, so they conducted tests on this platform.<\/p>\n<p>According to Promsvyazbank, since testing began, participants in the pilot group opened more than 40 digital accounts and completed several thousand operations.<\/p>\n<p>The digital ruble supports interbank transfers and QR-code payments similar to <span data-descr=\"System of Fast Payments\" class=\"old_tooltip\">\u0421\u0411\u041f<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The law on the national digital currency came into force <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/russia-legally-recognises-foreign-cbdcs\">on 1 August<\/a>. Russian citizens will be able to use the new payment instrument <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/central-bank-outlines-timelines-for-broad-rollout-of-the-digital-ruble\">in 2025\u20132027<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In September, the Russian Finance Ministry explained <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/finance-ministry-sets-out-accounting-rules-for-the-digital-ruble\">the accounting treatment<\/a> of CBDC operations.<\/p>\n<p>Later, banks <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/banks-estimate-the-cost-of-implementing-the-digital-ruble\">calculated<\/a> the costs of implementing the technology.
