{"id":85151,"date":"2023-09-29T10:34:49","date_gmt":"2023-09-29T07:34:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=85151"},"modified":"2025-09-12T21:34:46","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T18:34:46","slug":"sec-delays-decision-on-three-more-spot-bitcoin-etf-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/sec-delays-decision-on-three-more-spot-bitcoin-etf-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"SEC delays decision on three more spot Bitcoin-ETF applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) delayed the decision on applications for spot Bitcoin-<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-etf\">ETF<\/a> from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/files\/rules\/sro\/nasdaq\/2023\/34-98610.pdf\">BlackRock<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/files\/rules\/sro\/cboebzx\/2023\/34-98613.pdf\">Invesco<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/files\/rules\/sro\/nysearca\/2023\/34-98607.pdf\">Bitwise<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/files\/rules\/sro\/nasdaq\/2023\/34-98606.pdf\">Valkyrie<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>The firms had expected a ruling by October 16\u201319, but a new date has been set for mid\u2011January 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The Bloomberg analyst James Seyffart believes that decisions on applications from Fidelity, VanEck and WidsomTree will also be moved. Earlier the SEC had <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sec-delays-ruling-on-bitcoin-etf-lawmakers-urge-immediate-action\">delayed<\/a> review of the documentation for launching spot Bitcoin-ETF from ARK Invest and 21Shares.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">ANOTHER: <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BlackRock?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@BlackRock<\/a> joins the party on spot <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Bitcoin?src=hash&#038;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Bitcoin<\/a> ETF delays. It would disrupt the work of the country&#8217;s financial regulators and other federal agencies.<\/p>\n<p>Both chambers of Congress\u2014the House and Senate\u2014have not agreed on various funding bills. Lawmakers must therefore pass 12 separate documents before the start of October, or the government will be shut down. <\/p>\n<p>Another Bloomberg expert, Eric Balchunas, spoke of rumors that the SEC has approached ETF issuers directly, something that had never happened before.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-conversation=\"none\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">There&#8217;s chatter that SEC reached out to the issuers, which has never happened bf in process, to go over (likely some plumbing issues).
