In monetary terms, the largest loss was recorded in the attack on blockchains (<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/mixin-network-hacked-for-200-million\">Mixin Network, $200 million<\/a>). After <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/hacker-drains-curve-finance-liquidity-pools-of-47-million\">Curve ($73 million)<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/experts-suspect-lazarus-group-hackers-of-coinex-breach-worth-55-million\"> CoinEx ($70 million)<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/alphapo-hack-losses-estimated-at-60-million\"> Alphapo ($60 million)<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/lazarus-hackers-blamed-for-stake-breach-worth-41-million\"> Stake ($41.3 million)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\\\"wp-block-image\\\">\n<figure class=\\\"aligncenter size-full\\\"><img decoding=\\\"async\\\" src=\\\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2121212.webp\\\" alt=\\\"2121212\\\" class=\\\"wp-image-216814\\\"\/><figcaption class=\\\"wp-element-caption\\\">Data: Beosin.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>In terms of blockchains, Ethereum was hardest hit \u2014 16 attacks left projects with $227 million. In second place (excluding the Mixin incident) was BNB Chain (10 incidents with losses of $37.4 million).<\/p>\n<div class=\\\"wp-block-image\\\">\n<figure class=\\\"aligncenter size-full\\\"><img decoding=\\\"async\\\" src=\\\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/213123213.webp\\\" alt=\\\"213123213\\\" class=\\\"wp-image-216815\\\"\/><figcaption class=\\\"wp-element-caption\\\">Data: Beosin.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Among rug-pull incidents, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/cross-chain-protocol-multichain-halts-operations\">Multichain ($210 million)<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/base-blockchain-swept-by-a-wave-of-meme-tokens\">Bald ($23 million)<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/pepe-telegram-account-hacked-and-fake-gbtc-token-airdrop\">Pepe ($15.5 million)<\/a> stood out.<\/p>\n<div class=\\\"wp-block-image\\\">\n<figure class=\\\"aligncenter size-full\\\"><img decoding=\\\"async\\\" src=\\\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-640.webp\\\" alt=\\\"image-640\\\" class=\\\"wp-image-216811\\\"\/><figcaption class=\\\"wp-element-caption\\\">Data: Beosin.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to the analysts, only 10% of assets stolen by hackers were recovered. By comparison, in the first half of the year the figure stood at 45.5%. 67% of funds remained at the hackers&#8217; addresses, 18.4% passed through <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-the-tornado-cash-mixer-and-why-was-it-sanctioned\"> mixers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\\\"wp-block-image\\\">\n<figure class=\\\"aligncenter size-full\\\"><img decoding=\\\"async\\\" src=\\\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-641.webp\\\" alt=\\\"image-641\\\" class=\\\"wp-image-216812\\\"\/><figcaption class=\\\"wp-element-caption\\\">Data: Beosin.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Earlier, Chainalysis calculated that as of September 14, North Korean hackers had stolen <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/a-third-of-crypto-stolen-by-north-korea-linked-hackers-was-taken-in-two-attacks\">$340.4 million<\/a>. A third of this sum was obtained in just two attacks attributed to Lazarus.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, investigators found bitcoins worth <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/lazarus-group-wallets-hold-bitcoin-worth-42-5-million-analysts-say\">$42.5 million<\/a> on the hackers&#8217; wallets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From July through September, the crypto industry lost about $889.3 million to hacks, frauds and rug pulls.
