{"id":84950,"date":"2023-09-25T12:07:37","date_gmt":"2023-09-25T09:07:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=84950"},"modified":"2025-09-12T20:25:28","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T17:25:28","slug":"us-trains-ukraine-to-detect-sanctions-evasion-through-cryptocurrencies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/us-trains-ukraine-to-detect-sanctions-evasion-through-cryptocurrencies\/","title":{"rendered":"US trains Ukraine to detect sanctions evasion through cryptocurrencies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ukrainian law enforcement officials from September 18 to 21 <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.irs.gov\/compliance\/criminal-investigation\/us-uk-dutch-agencies-deliver-virtual-cyber-training-to-ukrainian-law-enforcement-in-effort-to-curtail-sanctions-evaders\\\">took part in<\/a> the second stage of online training focused on tracking cryptocurrencies to combat sanctions evasion.<\/p>\n<p>The organizers of the training were the IRS Criminal Investigation Division, the Netherlands&#8217; Financial Intelligence and Investigation Service, and His Majesty&#8217;s Revenue and Customs of the United Kingdom, with the participation of analytics firms CipherTrace and BlockTrace.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the program, about 40 Ukrainian law enforcement officers from the cyber police, <span data-descr=\\\"Bureau of Economic Security of Ukraine (BESU)\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">\u0411\u042d\u0411<\/span>, <span data-descr=\\\"Security Service of Ukraine (SBU)\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">\u0421\u0411\u0423<\/span>, <span data-descr=\\\"National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU)\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">\u041d\u0410\u0411\u0423<\/span> and <span data-descr=\\\"State Bureau of Investigation (SBI)\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">\u0413\u0411\u0420<\/span> studied tools to identify fraudulent cryptocurrency transactions and money laundering.<\/p>\n<p>Upon completing the training and passing the exam, participants earned accreditation as certified cryptocurrency-tracking examiners.<\/p>\n<p>The IRS Criminal Investigation Division is currently conducting 30 investigations related to sanctions evasion.
