[\u2026] Faced with the choice: stay in the U.S. or pursue their dream, more and more founders [of projects] are deciding to leave,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Elliptic analyst cited by Yakovenko, in 2018 42% <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-web3\">Web3<\/a>-developers were based in the United States, and by 2022 the share had fallen to 29%.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">3\/ First of all, U.S. is losing its lead (from 42% share in 2018 to 29% in 2022).<\/p>\n<p>The grand majority of new and existing crypto devs are in the U.S. However, crypto is becoming more global and decentralized.<\/p>\n<p>So, which regions are accelerating faster? <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7OBFNstZtT\">pic.twitter.com\/7OBFNstZtT<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Enrique \u26a1 (@eherrerosj) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/eherrerosj\/status\/1630961190112296961?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">March 1, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The Solana chief recalled his childhood in Ukraine, where \u201caccess to assets and information was controlled with an iron fist.\u201d After moving to the United States he understood the \u201cboundless possibilities of the country,\u201d where it is possible to realise the idea of \u201ca globally interoperable network that no single person or organization could disconnect.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But Yakovenko noted that young crypto projects are wary of entering the market, as the local regulatory landscape hinders even multi-billion-dollar companies.<\/p>\n<p>He also acknowledged frequent scams in the industry, but stressed that the economy should not punish the entire sector for the actions of its \u201cworst elements\u201d.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cImagine if Google were founded in Russia, and Reddit in China. How different would the Internet look today? For the U.S. to attract and retain the best talent in the new digital world, we need a compelling regulatory framework that protects consumers and encourages entrepreneurship,\u201d added the Solana cofounder.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In short, Anatoly Yakovenko urged the U.S. Congress to move swiftly to establish a regulatory framework for the cryptocurrency market.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ripple-ceo-calls-the-united-states-the-worst-country-for-crypto-startups\">named<\/a> the United States as one of the \u201cworst places\u201d to launch Web3 startups.
