This was said by Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of Google DeepMind, in an interview with MIT Technology Review.

In his view, future AI developments will be more dynamic and capable of acting autonomously.

“You simply give them a high-level goal, and they will use all available tools to achieve it. Neural networks will converse with other people and AI,” explained the head of DeepMind.

With sufficient freedom of action, the new technologies will offer greater functionality than existing generative algorithms, which Suleyman called ‘static’.

Earlier in an interview with CNBC programmer predicted that within the next five years everyone will have their own AI personal assistants. Inflection AI, his company, launched its Pi chatbot in May as a competitor to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Deep learning showed that we can teach computers to distinguish different types of input: images, video, audio, language. We are now in the generative wave, where you take information and create something new. The third wave will be interactive,” Suleyman added.

When discussing risks of AI, the co-founder said that “people will always be in charge”. Something like recursive self-improvement.
