(@MetaMask) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MetaMask\/status\/1701585470512095636?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 12, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Snaps are software modules that can be integrated into the wallet for various enhancements or additional functionality.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the update, there is now the ability to configure <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-are-cross-chain-bridges\">cross-chain bridges<\/a> between blockchains, including Bitcoin, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-solana-sol\">Solana<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-avalanche-avax\">Avalanche<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-are-starknets-blockchain-and-cryptocurrency\">StarkNet<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the initial phase of testing, MetaMask launched <a href=\"https:\/\/snaps.metamask.io.\/\">34 Snap apps<\/a>. Among them are the aforementioned cross-chain protocols, as well as smaller extensions, such as an internal chat or additional security layers.<\/p>\n<p>All Snaps are developed by third-party teams. The core idea of the initiative is to allow developers to upload their utilities to MetaMask without friction.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe are building an open platform for innovation and we do not charge for publishing Snaps.
