{"id":83878,"date":"2023-09-01T13:36:44","date_gmt":"2023-09-01T10:36:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=83878"},"modified":"2025-09-12T13:52:51","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T10:52:51","slug":"bitwise-withdraws-bitcoin-and-ethereum-basket-etf-application","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/bitwise-withdraws-bitcoin-and-ethereum-basket-etf-application\/","title":{"rendered":"Bitwise Withdraws Bitcoin and Ethereum Basket ETF Application"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bitwise filed a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/1928561\/000138713123010681\/0001387131-23-010681-index.html\">withdrawal request<\/a> for the Bitcoin and Ether Market Cap Weight Strategy <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-cryptocurrency-etf\">ETF<\/a> application dated August 3.<\/p>\n<p>The fund was to hold the two largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalisation in proportion to their market capitalisations.<\/p>\n<p>The decision followed the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bitcoin-slips-below-26000-as-sec-decision-on-bitcoin-etfs-weighs-on-markets\">delay<\/a> by the <span data-descr=\"U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SEC<\/span> verdict on applications to launch spot bitcoin ETFs from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/files\/rules\/sro\/nasdaq\/2023\/34-98267.pdf\">BlackRock<\/a>, Fidelity, <a href=\"http:\/\/sec.gov\/files\/rules\/sro\/nysearca\/2023\/34-98268.pdf\">Bitwise<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/files\/rules\/sro\/cboebzx\/2023\/34-98265.pdf\">VanEck<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/files\/rules\/sro\/cboebzx\/2023\/34-98264.pdf\">WisdomTree<\/a>, Invesco and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/files\/rules\/sro\/nasdaq\/2023\/34-98262.pdf\">Valkyrie<\/a> at least until mid-October.<\/p>\n<p>At that time the Commission would retain the right to extend the review period to January, March, April and May 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier Bitwise<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/six-firms-file-applications-to-launch-an-ethereum-etf\"> filed an application<\/a> to launch an Ethereum-based futures ETF.
