{"id":83458,"date":"2023-08-23T11:39:22","date_gmt":"2023-08-23T08:39:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=83458"},"modified":"2025-09-12T11:13:46","modified_gmt":"2025-09-12T08:13:46","slug":"blocktower-backs-maple-finance-in-5-million-funding-round","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/blocktower-backs-maple-finance-in-5-million-funding-round\/","title":{"rendered":"BlockTower backs Maple Finance in $5 million funding round"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The DeFi platform Maple Finance has closed a strategic funding round worth $5 million, led by BlockTower Capital and Tioga Capital.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-546.webp\" alt=\"image-546\" class=\"wp-image-214192\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Data:<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/maplefinance\/status\/1693975202365903138\"> X<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The round was also funded by Cherry Ventures, The Spartan Group, GSR Ventures, Veris Ventures, Maven11 Capital and Framework Ventures.<\/p>\n<p>The funds will be deployed to expansion in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region.<\/p>\n<p>The startup also intends to collaborate with other protocols, providers of financial services and lending experts.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>The funding round kicks off a roadmap that envisions Maple Finance [\u2026] into the world <span data-descr=\"traditional finance\" class=\"old_tooltip\">TradFi<\/span> as a leading lending platform and technology provider<\/em>, the team said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Maple Finance is positioned as a permissioned platform that issues <span data-descr=\"loans provided by at least two lenders\" class=\"old_tooltip\">syndicated loans<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>According to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maple.finance\/\"> \u0432\u0435\u0431-\u0441\u0430\u0439\u0442\u0443 \u0444\u0438\u0440\u043c\u044b<\/a>, the total value of loans issued on the platform has surpassed $2.2 billion, with deposited assets of $45.7 million.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>&#8220;Our mission remains clear \u2014 to unite <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-web3\"><em>Web3<\/em><\/a><em> with traditional finance through a robust networked capital infrastructure that sets new standards and creates opportunities for the entire ecosystem&#8221;,<\/em> \u2014 said Sidney Powell, CEO of Maple Finance.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier in October 2022, BlockTower Capital quietly launched a venture fund<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/blocktower-raises-150-million-for-web3-focused-venture-fund\"> in the amount of $150 million<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the Monetary Authority of Singapore<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/singapores-central-bank-reviews-tokenisation-and-defi-protocols\"> considered<\/a> aspects of tokenization and DeFi protocols.
