Data: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/coins\/toncoin\">CoinGecko<\/a>.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Durov also admitted that he bought about a quarter of Telegram&#8217;s recently issued bonds worth $270 million \u2014 &#8216;in addition to the tens of millions&#8217; that he has spent over the past decade to keep the messaging service running.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\n<cite>&#8220;Some people have said that I should have bought a house or a plane. But I prefer to stay focused on my work, without owning anything (except Telegram, a small amount of Bitcoin and Toncoin),&#8221; the entrepreneur wrote.<\/cite><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Pavel Durov added that Telegram&#8217;s audience is replenished by 2.5 million new users every day. The total number of the latest surpasses 800 million.<\/p>\n<p>The Telegram founder bought about 2000 BTC roughly 10 years ago at a price of $750.
