However, the attacker managed to withdraw 202 assets from 123 addresses stored in Ethscriptions.<\/p>\n<p>The exact amount stolen is unknown, but according to data from NFT marketplace <a href=\\\"https:\/\/opensea.io\/collection\/ethscriptions\/analytics\\\">OpenSea<\/a>, previously some inscriptions were sold for 5 ETH (~$9,600 at the time of the deal).<\/p>\n<p>Leman took responsibility for the breach. He said that the attacker\u2019s actions could be traced to a smart contract he had created. He explained that a flaw in the code allowed the hacker to withdraw artifacts that did not belong to him.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\u201cThe aim of the marketplace was to show others how to create marketplaces and help build the ecosystem. Unfortunately, we have fallen flat on our faces in this direction,\u201d added Leman.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The head of the marketplace noted the significant loss of the rare <a href=\\\"https:\/\/ethscriptions.com\/ethscriptions\/0x8bf867b6a01600fd85c8972b841ae63546554abe032b1d543ebe141fc0a89077\\\">Ethscription #56<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Leman said the Ethscriptions marketplace would be relaunched after the necessary changes.<\/p>\n<p>The project lead, who was a co-founder and former CEO of the online music encyclopedia Genius, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/an-ordinals-like-protocol-emerges-on-ethereum\">launched<\/a> the protocol on July 19. According to him, the launch went smoothly \u2014 in less than 18 hours nearly 30,000 Ethscriptions were created, including a copy of the popular NFT collection <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-are-cryptopunks\">CryptoPunks<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>By the end of June, trading volume on the platform <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/trading-volume-of-ethereum-based-ordinals-analogue-tops-1-million\">exceeded $1 million<\/a>.
