{"id":81739,"date":"2023-07-14T19:10:25","date_gmt":"2023-07-14T16:10:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=81739"},"modified":"2025-09-12T00:49:34","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T21:49:34","slug":"sec-takes-up-review-of-spot-bitcoin-etf-applications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/sec-takes-up-review-of-spot-bitcoin-etf-applications\/","title":{"rendered":"SEC Takes Up Review of Spot Bitcoin ETF Applications"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has taken up the application for a spot Bitcoin <span data-descr=\\\"exchange-traded fund \\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">ETF<\/span> from <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/rules\/sro\/nasdaq\/2023\/34-97905.pdf\\\">BlackRock<\/a>, <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/rules\/sro\/cboebzx\/2023\/34-97903.pdf\\\">VanEck<\/a>, <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/rules\/sro\/cboebzx\/2023\/34-97900.pdf\\\">Invesco<\/a>, <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/rules\/sro\/cboebzx\/2023\/34-97899.pdf\\\">Fidelity Investments<\/a> and <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/rules\/sro\/cboebzx\/2023\/34-97904.pdf\\\">WisdomTree<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The SEC&#8217;s actions do not imply that the filings will be approved or rejected. Earlier, a similar process was launched for Bitwise&#8217;s filings.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>On June 15, BlackRock <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/blackrock-files-for-bitcoin-etf-launch\">filed<\/a> with the SEC an application for a spot Bitcoin ETF. Following the financial giant, similar requests were submitted by <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/valkyrie-seeks-to-register-a-spot-bitcoin-etf\">Valkyrie<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/fidelity-investments-files-for-spot-bitcoin-etf\">Fidelity Investments<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/wisdomtree-and-invesco-file-applications-to-launch-bitcoin-etfs\">WisdomTree and Invesco<\/a>. In the queue <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sec-to-review-ark-invests-spot-bitcoin-etf-filing-ahead-of-blackrock\">ARK Invest and 21Shares have priority<\/a> based on filing time.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>On June 30, Wall Street Journal sources said that the Commission <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/wsj-reports-sec-reaction-to-blackrock-and-fidelity-spot-bitcoin-etf-filings\">returned the filings<\/a> because they did not contain sufficient information regarding the so-called <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/cboe-mirrors-blackrock-elements-in-ark-invest-bitcoin-etf-filing\">joint surveillance agreement<\/a> or details of this mechanism.
