Fake crypto-project accounts began appearing on Meta’s Threads microblogging service.<\/p>\n

On July 8, the DeFi platform Wombex Finance posted a warning about a fake account that had, at the time, 41 followers.<\/p>\n

On July 6, Taiwanese entrepreneur Jeffrey Huang (Machi Big Brother) was alerted to a fake Threads page created in his name.<\/p>\n

At the time of writing these accounts had not posted links promoting the scam. Their activity was fairly low.<\/p>\n

On July 4, the microblogging service became known<\/a>. The app appeared in the App Store two days later. After that, on Twitter threatened<\/a> to sue Meta Platforms for using the company’s intellectual property in the new product.<\/p>\n

On July 6, unknown individuals hacked<\/a> Aptos’s Twitter account.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the attackers gained control<\/a> of Circle’s top executive Dante Disparte’s Twitter account and of the Twitter account<\/a> of The Sandbox metaverse CEO Arthur Madrid.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
