No timeline for lifting the restrictions was provided.<\/p>\n<p>Musk announced a one-third increase in the limits in the near term:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>8000 \u2014 for Twitter Blue;<\/li>\n<li>800 \u2014 for existing users;<\/li>\n<li>400 \u2014 for new users.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>On June 30, Twitter barred viewing content without registration. Users are invited to log in or sign up.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2022, Musk became the largest shareholder of Twitter after <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-acquires-9-2-stake-in-twitter\">acquiring 9.2% of the shares for $2.89 billion<\/a>. Later he <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-proposes-over-43-billion-to-buy-twitter\">proposed to buy the social network for $43 billion<\/a>, to create an \u201cinclusive arena for free speech.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The deal worth $44 billion <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-closes-deal-to-buy-twitter\">was closed<\/a> in October. The company&#8217;s former CEO Parag Agrawal and CFO Ned Sigal left the company&#8217;s headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>As reported in May 2023, Musk <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/elon-musk-to-step-down-as-twitter-ceo\">announced<\/a> that he found a replacement for the CEO position at Twitter.
