After that date, a special settlement process will commence.<\/p>\n<p>The Wyre team also noted that the service&#8217;s assets are up for sale. 88 Partners will review bids.<\/p>\n<p>The platform was on the verge of bankruptcy after fintech company Bolt <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bolt-and-wyre-abandon-1-5-billion-deal\">terminated the takeover agreement<\/a> for $1.5 billion in September 2022.<\/p>\n<p>On January 7, 2023 Wyre <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/wyre-to-cap-withdrawals\">limited withdrawals<\/a> by imposing a cap of 90% of the deposit. According to media reports, co-founder and CEO Ioannis Giannaros warned employees of possible shutdown of the business. Later the company <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/wyre-lifts-withdrawal-cap\">reversed<\/a> the restrictions, saying it had funding from an unnamed &#8220;strategic partner&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>In June, the investment bank Cowen <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/cowen-to-close-cryptocurrency-division\">announced the closure<\/a> of its crypto unit, a year after its launch.<\/p>\n<p>In the same month Banq, the payments subsidiary of crypto custodian Prime Trust, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/prime-trusts-payments-unit-files-for-bankruptcy\">filed<\/a> for bankruptcy.
