It was led by Haun Ventures, the former Andreessen Horowitz partner Kathy Haun.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Thrilled to announce our $10M seed round led by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HaunVentures?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@HaunVentures<\/a> with participation from prominent funds, strategic investors, and angels, including <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AlchemyPlatform?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@AlchemyPlatform<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/robotventures?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@robotventures<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/eladgil?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@eladgil<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/balajis?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@balajis<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cjliu49?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@cjliu49<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/blader?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@blader<\/a>, and other to push the envelope of fully onchain games. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/8DaZmYmzkU\">pic.twitter.com\/8DaZmYmzkU<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 ARGUS \u25e2 \u2726 \u25e3 (@ArgusLabs_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ArgusLabs_\/status\/1666113991310028803?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 6, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The company was backed by tech and gaming angel investors, including Elad Gil, Balaji Srinivasan and Siki Chen, Kevin Aluvi, Sanni Agarwal, Calvin Liu and Scott Moore.<\/p>\n<p>Funding was also provided by Robot Ventures, Anagram and Dispersion Capital.<\/p>\n<p>With the World Engine SDK, developers can create and configure interoperable game worlds.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cOnline games were born on the internet, but they are isolated, cut off from the vast potential of a connected universe,\u201d<\/em> said the startup\u2019s founder Scott Sunarto.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The entrepreneur is known as the creator of the \u201cfirst MMORTS game Dark Forws based on zk-SNARK technology.\u201d Difficulties arising from the constraints inherent in current blockchain architecture spurred him to build World Engine.<\/p>\n<p>Sunarto envisions the SDK as a \u201cconnected L2 layer for blockchains in the form of open-source sharded networks that will serve as the backbone for the Internet of Games.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Such a structure enables load distribution across high-performing gaming segments.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/image-369.webp\" alt=\"image-369\" class=\"wp-image-208735\"\/><figcaption>Data: Argus Labs.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Such a shard integrates easily with major engines and delivers the features and performance expected from a traditional game server.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cThe line between blockchain and game server is becoming blurred,\u201d<\/em> the company said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The base World Engine EVM shard gives players and developers a central place to build content and platforms that can easily interact with game shards through a dedicated routers system.<\/p>\n<p>The startup has attracted its first private beta testers for several select teams.<\/p>\n<p>In March 2022, Haun Ventures <a href=\"https:\/\/forklog.news\/haun-ventures-keti-haun-iz-a16z-privlekla-1-5-mlrd-dlya-investitsij-v-web-3-0\/\">attracted $1.5 billion<\/a> for investments in <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-web3\">Web3<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In May, Andreessen Horowitz formed its fourth crypto fund with a capacity of $4.5 billion. The vehicle will focus on supporting Web3 startups.<\/p>\n<p>In August, Haun Ventures<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/haun-ventures-leads-series-a-for-thirdweb-a-web3-developer-platform\"> led<\/a> an investment round for Thirdweb, a platform for Web3 developers.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2023, venture firm Bitkraft<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bitkraft-raises-220-6-million-for-its-second-blockchain-gaming-fund\"> raised $220.6 million<\/a> to launch its second fund to invest in the gaming Web3 sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Argus Labs, a startup developing an SDK for creating functionally interoperable blockchain games, closed a $10 million seed round.
