Then the platform <a href=\"https:\/\/status.kraken.com\/\">published a warning<\/a> about potential difficulties in depositing and withdrawing assets.<\/p>\n<p>Half an hour later, the exchange&#8217;s technical team fixed the error, reporting that the deposit and withdrawal processes had normalised.<\/p>\n<p>On the same day, Kraken suspended the futures platform for 10 minutes, citing site maintenance.<\/p>\n<p>In April the Bitcoin exchange <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/kraken-files-suit-against-the-u-s-internal-revenue-service\">filed a lawsuit<\/a> against the US Internal Revenue Service (IRS), which demanded the platform provide data on users. Kraken denies the regulator&#8217;s right to obtain information about digital asset transactions, calling the IRS&#8217;s demands &#8216;an unwarranted treasure hunt&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>The regulator&#8217;s requirements apply to users with trading volumes over $20,000 in a 12-month period from 2016 to 2020. Regulators said their actions are aimed at identifying tax evaders.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in March, Kraken <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/kraken-confirms-launch-of-its-own-bank\">confirmed<\/a> the launch of its own bank, despite regulatory troubles.<\/p>\n<p>In April the exchange&#8217;s subsidiary <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/kraken-granted-licence-in-ireland\">obtained a license<\/a> in Ireland as a virtual asset service provider.<\/p>\n<p>In June Kraken <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/kraken-cto-outlines-ai-benefits-for-the-crypto-market\">appointed a new technical director<\/a> \u2014 Vishnu Patankar.
