Today, we\u2019re excited to share our launch criteria!<\/p>\n<p>Reminder: Base has no plans to issue a network token.<a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/eRarQ4QzK8\">https:\/\/t.co\/eRarQ4QzK8<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Base ?\ufe0f (@BuildOnBase) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/BuildOnBase\/status\/1661406955158618118?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">May 24, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The document &#8216;Path to the Mainnet&#8217; does not contain specific dates.<\/p>\n<p>It lists five criteria required to launch the network:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>successful activation of the Regolith hard fork in the testnet;<\/li>\n<li>a positive outcome of the infrastructure review by the team <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-optimism-op\">Optimism Labs<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>upgrading the OP mainnet to Bedrock;<\/li>\n<li>completion of checks with no critical issues;<\/li>\n<li>stability of the testnet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The first two criteria have been met.<\/p>\n<p>Bedrock will implement lower fees, shorter deposit times, and a number of other changes.<\/p>\n<p>In Optimism, the update <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/optimism-team-activates-bedrock-upgrade\">will take place on June 6<\/a>. In Base, concrete timelines have not been set.<\/p>\n<p>In a discussion with <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/coinbase-s-base-network-publishes-path-to-mainnet-outlining-roadmap\"> Cointelegraph<\/a>, a project representative promised to outline timelines for implementing the aforementioned stages soon.<\/p>\n<p>After completing all procedures, the so-called &#8216;genesis window&#8217; will open \u2014 project teams will be able to deploy <span data-descr=\"decentralized applications\" class=\"old_tooltip\">dapps<\/span> in the base network. Coinbase will provide all necessary support.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, developers reiterated that there are no plans to issue a utility token.<\/p>\n<p>In February 2023, Coinbase <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-launches-testnet-for-base-its-l2-on-op-stack\">launched the Base testnet<\/a> on the OP Stack architecture <a href=\"https:\/\/optimism.mirror.xyz\/fLk5UGjZDiXFuvQh6R_HscMQuuY9ABYNF7PI76-qJYs\">OP Stack<\/a>.
