{"id":78954,"date":"2023-05-18T16:51:41","date_gmt":"2023-05-18T13:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=78954"},"modified":"2025-09-11T08:16:54","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T05:16:54","slug":"ripple-launches-platform-for-issuing-cbdcs-and-stablecoins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/ripple-launches-platform-for-issuing-cbdcs-and-stablecoins\/","title":{"rendered":"Ripple launches platform for issuing CBDCs and stablecoins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The fintech startup Ripple<a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20230518005115\/en\/Ripple-Launches-CBDC-Platform-for-the-Development-of-CBDCs-and-Stablecoins\"> announced<\/a> the launch of Ripple<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-central-bank-digital-currency-cbdc\"> CBDC<\/a> Platform \u2014 a comprehensive solution for central banks, governments and financial institutions for issuing a national digital currency and &#8220;stablecoins&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Use cases include wholesale and retail CBDC on a private blockchain, or the issuance of stablecoins.<\/p>\n<p>The solution is built on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).<\/p>\n<p>For issuers, the platform will enable the use of<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-multisignature-what-is-a-ring-signature\"> multisignatures<\/a> to manage and configure the full asset lifecycle\u2014from issuance and distribution to redemption and burning.<\/p>\n<p>Operators of the Ripple CBDC Platform will be able to manage settlements among institutions and participate in the distribution of digital currencies or stablecoins.<\/p>\n<p>Users of assets issued through the platform can expect secure custody of tokens and the ability to make and receive payments in the same manner as in other applications.<\/p>\n<p>The press release also mentions the possibility of standalone transactions without using smartphones.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in January 2023, Montenegro&#8217;s authorities and Ripple <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ripple-to-help-montenegro-develop-a-cbdc\"> agreed on a partnership<\/a> to launch a pilot project for a national digital currency.<\/p>\n<p>In recent days, the fintech startup<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ripple-agrees-to-acquire-crypto-custodian-metaco-for-250-million\"> announced<\/a> the acquisition of custodian Metaco.
