It is something of a lonely crusade by Chairman Gensler. For some reason he adheres to views unfriendly to digital assets,\u201d<\/em> Armstrong said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\np>According to the executive, the ongoing confrontation with the SEC could remove the lack of clarity regarding the legality of certain aspects of activity.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p><em>\u201cI do not think [Gensler] is trying to regulate the industry as much as he is trying to constrain it. He has initiated several lawsuits [\u2026], which give Coinbase the opportunity to obtain regulatory clarity in the courts. In our view, this will indeed benefit the crypto industry,\u201d<\/em> the executive explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In March 2023 the Commission <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sec-issues-wells-notice-to-coinbase\">sent a notice<\/a> to the exchange about an investigation into the listing procedure on the platform and its products \u2014 Coinbase Prime, Coinbase Wallet and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-staking-and-how-to-make-money-from-it\">staking<\/a> service Coinbase Earn.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In April the company <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-responds-to-sec-allegations-warns-of-reputational-risk\">responded<\/a> to the SEC&#8217;s claims, stating readiness to \u201cvigorously defend\u201d itself. Company representatives noted that the proceedings could damage the agency&#8217;s reputation.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In the same month the company <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-sues-sec-to-compel-a-response-to-its-rulemaking-petition\">filed a lawsuit<\/a> to obtain an answer from the SEC to the petition filed in July 2022. The platform sought to clarify crypto industry regulation.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In May Coinbase announced <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-launches-international-exchange-for-bitcoin-futures-trading\">the launch of an international futures exchange<\/a> for digital assets \u2014 Coinbase International Exchange.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Later the platform&#8217;s leadership named <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-leadership-names-uae-a-potential-strategic-hub\">the UAE as a potential strategic hub<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The U.S. Congress and other federal bodies such as the CFTC have reached a consensus on the need for clear rules for the crypto industry, while the SEC adheres to a different approach.
