This is stated in the <a href=\\\"https:\/\/www.sec.gov\/ix?doc=\/Archives\/edgar\/data\/0001633917\/000163391723000072\/pypl-20230331.htm\\\">report<\/a> to the <span data-descr=\\\"U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">SEC<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the document, the bulk of assets held by the company consists of $499 million in Bitcoin and $362 million in Ethereum.<\/p>\n<p>As of March, the total value of deposited funds on the platform rose by $339 million compared with 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Under PayPal&#8217;s policy, the service does not hold cryptocurrency directly in its wallets, instead relying on external service providers.<\/p>\n<p>Company representatives said they engage &#8216;third parties to provide certain protection services&#8217; for their clients&#8217; digital assets.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the PayPal-owned mobile payments service Venmo <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/venmo-to-add-option-to-withdraw-cryptocurrency-to-external-wallets\">integrated<\/a> a feature to withdraw cryptocurrency to external wallets.<\/p>\n<p>In July 2022, the payments giant <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/paypal-adds-option-to-withdraw-bitcoin-and-other-cryptocurrencies-to-external-wallets\">added<\/a> a similar option to its platform for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash and Litecoin.<\/p>\n<p>As of the end of 2022, the value of PayPal customers&#8217; cryptocurrency holdings <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/paypal-customers-bought-604-million-in-cryptocurrency\">was $604 million<\/a>.
