{"id":78244,"date":"2023-05-03T17:17:17","date_gmt":"2023-05-03T14:17:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=78244"},"modified":"2025-09-11T03:54:28","modified_gmt":"2025-09-11T00:54:28","slug":"sports-illustrated-launches-nft-ticketing-service-built-on-polygon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/sports-illustrated-launches-nft-ticketing-service-built-on-polygon\/","title":{"rendered":"Sports Illustrated launches NFT-ticketing service built on Polygon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Sports Illustrated publication&#8217;s subsidiary, SI Tickets, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20230502005488\/en\/Sports-Illustrated-Tickets-Partners-With-ConSensys-to-Launch-%E2%80%98Box-Office%E2%80%99%C2%A0An-All-new-Self-service-Event-Management-Platform-and-Primary-Blockchain-Ticketing-Solution-Powered-by-Polygon\">launched<\/a> the Box Office NFT-ticket sales platform.<\/p>\n<p>The service was developed jointly with ConsenSys on the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-polygon-matic\">Polygon<\/a> network.<\/p>\n<p>According to the press release, Box Office enables organizers to \u201ccreate, manage and promote fully scalable, paid or free tickets for sporting events\u201d in the form of non-fungible tokens.<\/p>\n<p>The company also introduced a &#8216;super ticket&#8217; feature. Attendees can scan the NFT for quick entry, discounts and access to additional content after the event.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cBlockchain is the future of ticketing. Since launching our global event marketplace, which handles 50 million tickets and more than 250,000 sports events, we have been preparing to enter a new market and disrupt it,\u201d said SI Tickets chief David Lane.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to the <a href=\"https:\/\/boxoffice.sitickets.com\/pricing\">Box Office<\/a> site, the service charges a fee of $1.40 and 3% of the cost for transaction processing.
