This is according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2023\/04\/28\/binance-japan-will-start-operations-after-june\/?utm_content=editorial&#038;utm_source=twitter&#038;utm_campaign=coindesk_main&#038;utm_medium=social&#038;utm_term=organic\">CoinDesk<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Last year the company <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/binance-buys-regulated-japanese-cryptocurrency-exchange\">acquired<\/a> the Sakura Exchange BitCoin (SEBC) trading platform, registered with the Japanese Financial Services Agency (FSA).<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, operations on SEBC will cease on 31 May. A new entity bearing the temporary name Binance Japan will take its place. The platform currently supports 11 trading pairs.<\/p>\n<p>In 2018 the FSA issued Binance a warning about the need to obtain a license to continue operating in the country. At that time the regulator tightened the risk assessment process for launching new cryptocurrency exchanges.<\/p>\n<p>Two years later Binance decided to restrict access to the platform for users in Japan. It later emerged that the exchange and the local crypto-trading firm TaoTao <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/binances-japanese-expansion-stalls-as-talks-with-local-partner-fail\">did not reach an agreement<\/a> on forming a joint venture.<\/p>\n<p>In the summer of 2021 the FSA <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/japanese-regulator-issues-another-warning-to-binance\">sent<\/a> Binance another warning for operating without registration.<\/p>\n<p>In September 2022 the crypto exchange <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bloomberg-reports-binance-plans-to-return-to-japan\">filed a renewed application<\/a> for a license in the country.
