The report from <a href=\\\"https:\/\/tvp.fund\/whitepapers\/bitcoin-venture-capital-research\/\\\">Trammell Venture Partners<\/a> (TVP) notes.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The number of funding deals for Bitcoin projects rose sharply by 52.9% versus 2021. Meanwhile, total investment in the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-web3\">Web3<\/a>-segment rose by only 1%.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>The combined market capitalization of digital-gold-focused companies also rose by 13.9% \u2014 to $343 million.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, Bitcoin accounted for about 42% of the total market capitalization of crypto assets.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>Despite the growth, TVP says there is a &#8216;serious tendency toward irrational use&#8217; of capital in the segment. Bitcoin projects accounted for only 2% of total deals last year.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>&#8220;The first cryptocurrency has already secured a basic level of monetary reserve for the Internet, and that&#8217;s the point. It simply hasn&#8217;t gained broad recognition yet,&#8221; said Christopher Kalikot, managing director of the firm.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In his view, projects such as the micropayments network <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/lightning-network-faster-cheaper-bitcoin-transactions\">Lightning Network<\/a> (LN) could give a serious boost to the entire ecosystem. The head of TVP also saw growth potential in several areas of the crypto market, including stablecoins.<\/p>\n<p>\\n\\n<\/p>\n<p>In April, the Lightspark startup by David Marcus <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/david-marcuss-lightspark-launches-lightning-network-platform-for-businesses\">presented<\/a> a platform to connect businesses to the Lightning Network.
