The Montenegrin prosecutor’s office charged Do Kwon, the head of Terraform Labs (TFL), with using a forged passport and other identity documents, DL News<\/a> reports citing the filing.<\/p>\n

If the creator of the ‘Ethereum killer’ is found guilty, he faces three months to five years in prison.<\/p>\n

“This could hinder the efforts by the United States and South Korea to extradite Kwon, who faces numerous fraud charges in each country over his alleged role in the $60 billion Terra collapse,” the publication writes.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

On 23 March 2023, Montenegrin police arrested<\/a> Do Kwon, who was attempting to fly out of Podgorica airport to Dubai using forged documents.<\/p>\n

The arrest followed requests from U.S. law enforcement, Singapore<\/a> and South Korea. Earlier media citing Seoul prosecutors reported that he is hiding in Serbia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On 29 March, it became known that Kwon will stand trial in Montenegro<\/a> ahead of extradition. The U.S. Attorney’s Office in New York also charged<\/a> the co-founder of TFL with eight counts.<\/p>\n

In April, investigators discovered<\/a> illicit assets tied to TFL worth $314 million.<\/p>\n
