Exchanges <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/gemini-becomes-irelands-first-licensed-digital-asset-service-provider\">Gemini<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/coinbase-granted-digital-asset-service-provider-licence-in-ireland\">Coinbase<\/a> were authorised as VASPs in July and December 2022 respectively.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cKraken&#8217;s registration in Ireland demonstrates to our clients and regulators that the company adheres to European anti-money laundering and compliance standards,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Head of European operations Mark Jennings noted that the exchange aims to cooperate with local regulators.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cClear and effective regulation is essential for bringing cryptocurrency into the mainstream. As new products and services are rolled out, we remain committed to working with European regulators on sensible and forward-looking rules for the industry,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Earlier in February, it emerged that Kraken settled claims with the <span data-descr=\"US Securities and Exchange Commission\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SEC<\/span>.
