TUNE IN FOR THE LAUNCH OF zkEVM MAINNET BETA<\/p>\n<p>Join Polygon Labs and <a href=\\\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ETHGlobal?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\\\">@ETHGlobal<\/a> for this momentous occasion and witness Ethereum co-creator, <a href=\\\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/VitalikButerin?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\\\">@VitalikButerin<\/a> perform the symbolic FIRST transaction. <a href=\\\"https:\/\/t.co\/sZJgz5k3a0\\\">https:\/\/t.co\/sZJgz5k3a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Polygon (labs) (@0xPolygonLabs) <a href=\\\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/0xPolygonLabs\/status\/1640341715675410433?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\\\">March 27, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\\\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\\\" charset=\\\"utf-8\\\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The solution uses zero-knowledge proofs technology (<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-are-rollups-and-how-do-they-scale-ethereum\">ZK-Rollups<\/a>), performing off-chain calculations on the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-layer%e2%80%912-solution-in-blockchain\">second layer<\/a> to reduce costs and speed up transactions.<\/p>\n<p>During the online launch stream, Ethereum co\u2011founder Vitalik Buterin carried out the first test transaction.<\/p>\n<p>zkEVM is equivalent to the <span data-descr=\\\"Ethereum Virtual Machine, Ethereum's virtual machine\\\" class=\\\"old_tooltip\\\">EVM<\/span>, meaning it supports mainnet code and allows developers to use existing tools and infrastructure. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\\\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\\\">\n<p>\\&#8221;With zkEVM you will be able to deploy any application without modifications, using existing developer tools such as Remix, and interact with the network using standard wallets, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-metamask\">MetaMask<\/a>,\\&#8221; said Polygon co-founder Mihailo Bijeli\u0107.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>More than 50 <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-web3\">Web3<\/a>-projects have already been deployed on the protocol, totaling around 6,000 smart contracts.
