CNBC reports this, citing Chinese-language chats controlled by the trading platform.<\/p>\n<p>According to the media, the so-called \u201cangels\u201d within the groups share tips on forging bank documents, falsifying addresses, and concealing the country of origin to bypass controls and obtain a Binance debit card.<\/p>\n<p>A Binance spokesperson told the publication that \u201cBinance employees are strictly forbidden from offering or assisting users in circumventing their local laws and regulatory policies.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThose who violate these rules will be immediately fired or subjected to an investigation,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"wp-block-text-wrappers-update-2 article_update\"><time class=\"gtb_text-wrappers_update_time\">24 March 2023 | 17:23<\/time><span class=\"gtb_text-wrappers_update_head\">Update: <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Binance representatives in a statement to <a href=\"https:\/\/cointelegraph.com\/news\/binance-launches-internal-investigation-following-kyc-bypass-rumors\" title=\"\">Cointelegraph<\/a> said that an internal investigation has begun. It will involve employees who \u201cmay have violated the company&#8217;s policy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The exchange has also implemented \u201cadvanced detection tools\u201d designed to identify users from jurisdictions under restrictions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>China has banned regulated institutions from participating in digital asset transactions since 2017, and in 2021 classified cryptocurrency operations as <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/pboc-views-cryptocurrencies-as-a-threat-to-the-traditional-financial-system\">illegal financial activity<\/a>. Despite this, users try to circumvent the restrictions by various means.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in March 2023, representatives of the US Senate Banking Committee sent Binance a letter requesting detailed information about KYC\/AML policy and anti-money-laundering procedures.
