The company allegedly sought to smooth over the reaction to the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/usdc-loses-peg-to-the-dollar-amid-svb-collapse\">depegging<\/a> of the stablecoin from the US dollar.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Snimok-ekrana-2023-03-22-v-16.30.59.webp\" alt=\"Snimok-ekrana-2023-03-22-v-16.30.59\" class=\"wp-image-202024\"\/><figcaption>Screenshot of the post published after the hack. The company said it would take appropriate measures.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This Twitter account (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ddisparte?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@ddisparte<\/a>) has been taken over by a scammer. Any links to offers are scams. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/221956\/circle-usdc-twitter-hacked\">The Block<\/a>, the thread contained a URL not belonging to the company.<\/p>\n<p>On 11 March, USDC lost its peg to the US dollar after Circle said it held $3.3 billion in reserves in <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/venture-capital-investors-distance-themselves-from-silicon-valley-bank-amid-liquidity-concerns\">custody of SVB authorities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The company <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/circle-promises-to-cover-any-shortfall-in-backing-for-usdc\">promised to cover<\/a> &#8216;any shortfall&#8217; in the collateral backing the stablecoin.
