{"id":75708,"date":"2023-03-17T09:21:26","date_gmt":"2023-03-17T07:21:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=75708"},"modified":"2025-09-10T13:10:22","modified_gmt":"2025-09-10T10:10:22","slug":"21shares-to-discontinue-six-crypto-etps-amid-weak-demand","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/21shares-to-discontinue-six-crypto-etps-amid-weak-demand\/","title":{"rendered":"21Shares to discontinue six crypto ETPs amid weak demand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Swiss company 21Shares has decided to close six cryptocurrency exchange-traded products (ETPs) due to weak demand. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/markets\/2023\/03\/16\/21shares-closes-6-crypto-exchange-traded-products\/\">CoinDesk<\/a> reports.<\/p>\n<p>According to the company&#8217;s representative, trading will cease on April 6.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Crypto Layer 1 ETP;<\/li>\n<li>DeFi 10 Infrastructure ETP;<\/li>\n<li>S&#038;P Risk Controlled Bitcoin Index ETP;<\/li>\n<li>S&#038;P Risk Controlled Ethereum Index ETP;<\/li>\n<li>USD Yield ETP.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Terra Classic ETP will be available until June 12. Assets under management across all six products total less than $700 000.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;This is standard practice in the ETP industry. Although these [products] have relatively low demand, we are seeing consistently high interest in others,&#8221; a spokesperson said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In September 2022, 21.co, the parent company of 21Shares, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/parent-company-of-21shares-raises-25-million-at-a-2-billion-valuation\">raised $25 million<\/a> in a financing round led by hedge fund Marshall Wace. Investors valued it at $2 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in 2023, the crypto ETP provider <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/21shares-launches-pos-based-crypto-basket-etp\">introduced<\/a> a product that tracks the performance of a basket of digital assets using the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/proof-of-stake-how-it-works-and-why-it-is-so-popular\">Proof-of-Stake<\/a> algorithm.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Swiss company 21Shares has decided to close six cryptocurrency exchange-traded products (ETPs) due to weak demand.
