(@paoloardoino) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/paoloardoino\/status\/1628327187240583168?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 22, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The expert noted that the world could change radically within a few years.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u00abIt would be unfair to dismiss the efforts of those countries trying to build their own future around the most robust, open and free (in the sense of independence) currency \u2014 Bitcoin,\u00bb he explained.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Ardoino stressed that Tether Limited supports the adoption of digital gold, as its aim is financial freedom.<\/p>\n<p>The executive lamented that in Europe (excluding Switzerland) attitudes toward the first cryptocurrency, despite millennia-old traditions, were not particularly promising.<\/p>\n<p>Ardoino said he would be glad if the countries of the region pursued technological and financial independence like El Salvador.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, Bitfinex, Tether and Hypercore<a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bitfinex-tether-and-hypercore-unveil-encrypted-p2p-video-chat-app-keet\"> launched<\/a> the Holepunch platform to create fully encrypted P2P applications. It does not rely on any blockchain, but the built-in payment <span data-descr=\"application programming interface\" class=\"old_tooltip\">API<\/span> will work with the network <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/lightning-network-faster-cheaper-bitcoin-transactions\">Lightning Network<\/a>. By default, Holepunch also supports integration into USDT-enabled apps.<\/p>\n<p>In 2022, Lugano (Switzerland) effectively recognised the first cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, Tether and the city token LVGA as legal tender.<\/p>\n<p>That same year the city opened El Salvador&#8217;s Bitcoin Embassy. In February 2023, a second similar institution <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/el-salvador-to-open-bitcoin-embassy-in-the-united-states\"> appeared<\/a> in Texas (USA).<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, finance minister Alejandro Zelaya said that the rollout of digital gold <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/el-salvador-cites-benefits-of-bitcoin-legalization\"> expanded access to financial services<\/a> for a population largely outside traditional banking, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/el-salvador-links-tourism-boom-to-bitcoin-legalization\"> attracted tourists<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/bitfinex-to-donate-over-1-million-to-small-businesses-in-el-salvador\"> investments<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the government of the Latin American country <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/el-salvador-creates-national-bitcoin-office\"> opened<\/a> the National Bitcoin Office.
