{"id":74459,"date":"2023-02-22T10:24:50","date_gmt":"2023-02-22T08:24:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=74459"},"modified":"2025-09-09T20:15:42","modified_gmt":"2025-09-09T17:15:42","slug":"solana-to-close-two-stores-in-the-united-states","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/solana-to-close-two-stores-in-the-united-states\/","title":{"rendered":"Solana to close two stores in the United States"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The ecosystem-focused <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-solana-sol\">Solana<\/a> Spaces store announced the closure of venues in New York and Miami.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The following is a note from our founder, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/vibhu?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@vibhu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Dear <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/solanaspaces?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@solanaspaces<\/a> community,<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ve made the difficult decision to sunset our stores in NYC and Miami by the end of February, and to pivot our Solana onboarding efforts into digital products like DRiP, our free NFT product with\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/kjNu9Ay4Gk\">https:\/\/t.co\/kjNu9Ay4Gk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Solana Spaces (@solanaspaces) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/solanaspaces\/status\/1628100995103494145?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 21, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe have made the difficult decision to close our stores in New York and Miami by the end of February and to shift our Solana onboarding efforts toward digital products\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 the statement said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The founder and CEO Vibhu Norbi explained that the decision was made \u201ca few weeks ago.\u201d He said that the physical stores did not attract as many users as originally expected.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cOur primary mission from day one has been to experiment with new and breakthrough models to attract people to <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-web3\">Web3<\/a>, and serve the community on behalf of the Solana Foundation,\u201d \u2014 he noted.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Norbi added that the \u201ctipping point\u201d with the stores forced a shift in focus to the NFT platform DRiP:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWhile our stores attract between 500 and 1000 people per week, DRiP serves the same number of customers EVERY DAY.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>On July 28, 2022, Solana Spaces <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/solana-to-open-a-physical-store-in-a-prestigious-new-york-mall\">opened<\/a> in the Hudson Yards shopping mall on Manhattan (New York, USA). The second location opened in Wynwood (Miami). Over their lifespan, the venues attracted 75,000 visitors, Norbi said.<\/p>\n<p>The team behind the Star Atlas game on Solana expressed regret at the decision. However, developers backed DRiP\u2019s development plans.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">We\u2019re sad to hear the news of <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/solanaspaces?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@solanaspaces<\/a> closing their Miami and NYC stores ?
