The State Duma will reintroduce a bill to legalise cryptocurrency mining. This was stated<\/a> by Anton Gorelkin, deputy chairman of the Committee on Information Policy.<\/p>\n

He said the consideration of sector-specific regulatory acts is progressing rather slowly.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a co-author of the bill to legalise mining, I can confirm that it will be postponed. I hope that in some form we will be able to implement it this year,\u201d said Gorelkin.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The mining regulation bill has been registered in the State Duma since mid-November 2022<\/a>. It obliges individuals and legal entities to report to the tax authorities about mined cryptocurrencies, indicating the address to which they are credited.<\/p>\n

Additionally, the document also bans advertising digital currencies or offering them in any form to an unlimited audience.<\/p>\n

Due to the need for additional approvals<\/a>, the consideration of the bill was pushed back to 2023.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the State Duma said that the taxation of miners in Russia would be carried out in the same way as other businesses<\/a> and would depend on the form of their registration.<\/p>\n
