The new head of YouTube, replacing Susan Wojcicki, \u0441\u0442\u0430\u043b<\/a> the video-platform’s chief product officer, Neil Mohan, who backs technologies related to digital assets.<\/p>\n

As an example of NFT use, he cited the ability to provide unique photos, videos and posts to subscribers. Mohan called this \u201can attractive prospect for content creators and their audiences.\u201d<\/p>\n

The then YouTube product chief also mentioned metaverses that could help make watching videos \u201cmore engaging.\u201d In his view, the technology is still in its early stages, but the platform is already working to drive greater user engagement.<\/p>\n

In October 2022, Google, the owner of YouTube, introduced<\/a> a Web3-focused developer cloud service, Blockchain Node Engine. It is designed to simplify deploying nodes.<\/p>\n

In November, Google Cloud announced<\/a> adding support for the Solana blockchain to Blockchain Node Engine. The service also deployed a node on the project’s network.<\/p>\n
