This was <a href=\"https:\/\/t.me\/afm_rk\/1640\">reported<\/a> by the Agency for Financial Monitoring of Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the criminal case against operators of five illegal cryptocurrency exchanges, law enforcement identified one of the group&#8217;s members.<\/p>\n<p>According to case materials, from July 2020 to January 2023 the suspect, using KZobmen exchanges, generated illicit income totaling more than 180 million tenge (about $397,500).<\/p>\n<p>The court seized assets worth 85 million tenge (approximately $187,700), including real estate and cryptocurrency on Binance.<\/p>\n<p>The pretrial investigation is ongoing.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in January, Kazakhstan&#8217;s authorities halted the operations of <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/kazakhstan-closes-five-illegal-bitcoin-exchanges\">five unregistered cryptocurrency exchanges<\/a> \u2014 KZobmen.com, 1WM.KZ, Kazobmen.ru, WM007.KZ and KZ-EXCHANGE.COM.
