He said this on the podcast <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2023\/02\/10\/podcasts\/bings-revenge-and-googles-ai-face-plant.html?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Hard Fork<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Yes, ChatGPT is a horrible product. It was not designed for people,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>ChatGPT has been a hit online since its launch in November. The tool has already affected educational processes, helping students write essays and take exams. The bot also handles writing lines of code.<\/p>\n<p>However, ChatGPT is prone to outages. The bot often says it is overloaded or unexpectedly declines user requests.<\/p>\n<p>Altman acknowledged that the artificial-intelligence technology behind ChatGPT is &#8216;undoubtedly cool&#8217;.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;People really like it, which makes us very happy. But no one would say it&#8217;s a great, well-integrated product [&#8230;]. But there is so much value here that people are willing to put up with it,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Another OpenAI co-founder, Greg Brockman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/alexkonrad\/2023\/02\/02\/inside-chatggpts-breakout-moment-and-the-race-for-the-future-of-ai\/?sh=42b954fa240b\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">shared<\/a>, that the launch of ChatGPT in its current form was something of a last resort for the company amid beta testers&#8217; problems.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, despite the seemingly unsystematic launch, the chatbot became a viral sensation.
