The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/583ead66-467c-4bd5-84d0-ed5df7b5bf9c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">Financial Times<\/a> reports this.<\/p>\n<p>According to the publication, the tech giant received 10% of the startup&#8217;s shares.<\/p>\n<p>Anthropic also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anthropic.com\/news\/announcement\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" title=\"\">announced<\/a> that it chose Google Cloud as its preferred cloud service provider. The partnership will allow companies to jointly build computing systems for artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cThe startup will use large-scale clusters <span data-descr=\"Graphics Processing Unit\" class=\"old_tooltip\">GPU<\/span> and <span data-descr=\"Google's Tensor Processing Unit\" class=\"old_tooltip\">TPU<\/span> of the next generation for training, scaling and deployment of AI solutions,\u201d according to the press release.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>According to Anthropic, the collaboration will provide the necessary performance and scalability of the cloud infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The startup is developing a potential competitor to ChatGPT\u2014a universal chatbot named Claude. The company said that the algorithm is based on research in the field of safe artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWe aim to use Google&#8217;s cloud infrastructure to develop reliable, interpretable and controllable AI systems,\u201d Anthropic said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Claude is in closed beta testing. It is not yet clear whether Google plans to integrate the technology into its services.<\/p>\n<p>Anthropic was founded in 2021 by former OpenAI VP of Research Dario Amodei. He left the AI lab over \u201cdifferences regarding the company\u2019s development\u201d and took with him other staff, including leading GPT-3 language-model engineer Tom Brown.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in February, Alphabet and Google chief Sundar Pichai announced <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/google-to-unveil-chatgpt-rival-in-the-coming-months\">the launch of a competitor to ChatGPT<\/a> in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>In January, it emerged that Microsoft was making <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/microsoft-and-openai-seal-multi-billion-dollar-deal\">&#8216;multi-year, multi-billion&#8217; investments<\/a> in OpenAI.
