Bankman-Fried allegedly made donations in the names of others to bypass the $25,000 annual limit. The former FTX head <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/sam-bankman-fried-refuses-to-plead-guilty-trial-set-for-october\">has pleaded not guilty<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>FTX Group urged recipients to return them by February 28, 2023. The press release said debtors may sue to compel recovery, including interest.<\/p>\n<p>According to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2023\/01\/17\/congress-ftx-problem-1-in-3-members-got-cash-from-crypto-exchanges-bosses\/\"> CoinDesk<\/a>, Bankman-Fried directed funds to one in three sitting members of the U.S. Congress.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, the former FTX head <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ftx-ceo-sam-bankman-fried-enters-the-top-20-sponsors-of-joe-bidens-presidential-campaign\">allocated $5.22 million<\/a> to Joe Biden&#8217;s campaign fund, ranking among his top sponsors.
