It was led by Pantera Capital and Archetype.<\/p>\n<p>Funding was also provided by BlockTower, Nascent, Placeholder, Spartan, Coinbase Ventures, Ethereal Ventures and IEX.<\/p>\n<p>The total amount raised by Obol Labs reached $19 million.<\/p>\n<p>The startup develops <span data-descr=\"distributed validator technology\" class=\"old_tooltip\">DVT<\/span>. It enables running the Ethereum Proof-of-Stake validator across multiple machines by splitting the private key.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cTo make networks more secure, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-staking-and-how-to-make-money-from-it\">staking<\/a> must be decentralised by design. DVT provides decentralisation and fault tolerance,\u201d <em>\u2014<\/em> said Colin Myers, co-founder and CEO of Obol Labs.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Running a validator as a cluster of nodes means greater staking resilience:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>validators are less likely to go offline;<\/li>\n<li>validator keys are less likely to be compromised;<\/li>\n<li>there is a lower risk of network-wide correlation if validator clients have bugs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The startup currently supports Ethereum. In the future, it plans to integrate <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-cosmos-atom\">Cosmos<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-layer%e2%80%912-solution-in-blockchain\">L2-solutions<\/a> for the second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization.<\/p>\n<p>Obol Labs is actively working with <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-liquid-staking\">liquid staking<\/a> providers to deploy DVT across their operator sets.<\/p>\n<p>The startup&#8217;s community numbers nine thousand users in more than 20 countries.
