{"id":72012,"date":"2022-12-27T19:56:22","date_gmt":"2022-12-27T17:56:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=72012"},"modified":"2025-09-08T12:24:22","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T09:24:22","slug":"japanese-authorities-plan-to-ease-regulation-of-stablecoins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/japanese-authorities-plan-to-ease-regulation-of-stablecoins\/","title":{"rendered":"Japanese authorities plan to ease regulation of stablecoins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Financial Services Agency of Japan (FSA) is collecting feedback on proposed regulations intended to permit the listing of foreign-issued stablecoins on local cryptocurrency exchanges, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/policy\/2022\/12\/27\/japan-plans-to-allow-local-listing-of-foreign-stablecoins-nikkei\/\">CoinDesk<\/a> reports, citing Nikkei.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The draft document envisions payment-oriented stablecoins backed by a substantial asset base.<\/p>\n<p>The new rules would lift the ban on local exchanges distributing popular coins such as USD Coin (USDC) or Tether (USDT).<\/p>\n<p>The changes to the legislation will take effect alongside the revised Payments Services Act, according to the report.<\/p>\n<p>Restrictions on <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/terras-death-spiral-how-and-why-luna-and-ust-collapsed\">the Terra crash in May<\/a> were introduced.
