{"id":71645,"date":"2022-12-19T14:56:27","date_gmt":"2022-12-19T12:56:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forklog.com\/en\/?p=71645"},"modified":"2025-09-08T10:15:17","modified_gmt":"2025-09-08T07:15:17","slug":"yuga-labs-makes-headway-in-dispute-with-creator-of-fake-bayc-tokens","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/yuga-labs-makes-headway-in-dispute-with-creator-of-fake-bayc-tokens\/","title":{"rendered":"Yuga Labs makes headway in dispute with creator of &#8216;fake&#8217; BAYC tokens"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The United States District Court for the Central District of California <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.cacd.855658\/gov.uscourts.cacd.855658.62.0.pdf\">denied<\/a> the motion filed by artist Ryder Ripps and Not Larva Labs founder Jeremy Cayne in the proceedings against Yuga Labs.<\/p>\n<p>In June, the company behind the NFT collection Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/yuga-labs-files-suit-against-creator-of-fake-bayc-tokens\">accused<\/a> Ripps and Cayne of issuing and selling &#8216;fake&#8217; tokens that devalue the original works.<\/p>\n<p>In October, the defendants filed motions to strike Yuga Labs&#8217; objections and the suit, filed in bad faith under California&#8217;s anti-<span data-descr=\"Strategic Lawsuits Against Public Participation\" class=\"old_tooltip\">SLAPP<\/span> statute.
