In 2020, she <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/in-the-past-year-the-sec-collected-more-than-4-68-billion-in-penalties-for-unregistered-icos\">reported<\/a> a record amount of penalties for unregistered ICOs \u2014 <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/in-the-past-year-the-sec-collected-more-than-4-68-billion-in-penalties-for-unregistered-icos\">over $4.68 billion<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>She is currently at WilmerHale. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wilmerhale.com\/en\/people\/stephanie-avakian\">\u0438\u043d\u0444\u043e\u0440\u043c\u0430\u0446\u0438\u0438<\/a> on the site, she counsels and defends public companies, investment banks, asset managers and individual executives in the course of government investigations.<\/p>\n<p>According to Bloomberg, WilmerHale lawyers will provide additional legal support to Ellison.<\/p>\n<p>On November 6, Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao said he aimed to divest from the FTX utility token (FTT). The assets, together with BUSD, totaling about $2.1 billion, marked the company\u0010s exit from its portfolio investment in the platform.<\/p>\n<p>That same day Ellison said she was willing to buy back FTT from Binance at $22 per unit. By November 11, FTX Group, which includes Alameda Research, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ftx-group-files-for-bankruptcy-sam-bankman-fried-resigns-as-ceo\">filed for bankruptcy<\/a>. Sam Bankman-Fried stepped down as CEO.<\/p>\n<p>John Ray, who took the post, <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ftx-ceo-accuses-former-leadership-of-favouring-alameda-research\">accused<\/a> former exchange executives of concealing illicit use of customer funds and a &#8220;secret release of Alameda Research from certain aspects of the platform&#8217;s auto-liquidation protocol&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>In November, a Canadian resident <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/lawsuit-filed-against-sam-bankman-fried-and-the-golden-state-warriors\">filed a lawsuit<\/a> against Bankman-Fried, Ellison and the NBA&#8217;s Golden State Warriors for false advertising.<\/p>\n<p>Lawyers say the U.S. Department of Justice has all the necessary grounds to bring criminal charges against the exchange&#8217;s top executives.
