The data will cover spot, trading, margin, contract and other accounts for Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT and USDC.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u00abThis step is part of our efforts to ensure transparency of user funds, underscoring our commitment to strengthening trust in the industry\u00bb, \u2014 commented KuCoin CEO Johnny Lyu.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The exchange plans to publish the results of the verification on its site within a few weeks.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u00abIn the wake of recent industry events there is a strong need for additional transparency. We are confident that Mazars&#8217; Proof-of-Reserves service, offered to KuCoin and other crypto exchanges, will help strengthen trust\u00bb, \u2014 said Vechan Oliver, partner and head of the auditor&#8217;s digital assets division.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At the end of November <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/binance-launches-proof-of-reserves-feature-for-bitcoin-holders\">announced Binance<\/a>&#8216;s own Proof-of-Reserves feature. It allows Bitcoin holders to verify that their funds on the platform are backed by corresponding asset volumes. The solution is expected to be extended to other cryptocurrencies in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The founder of Kraken, Jesse Powell <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/jesse-powell-criticises-binances-proof-of-reserves-function\">criticised the Binance initiative<\/a>. In his view, the tool does not prove that the exchange holds more Bitcoin than its obligations to customers.<\/p>\n<p>The platform team used <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/what-is-a-merkle-tree\">Merkle tree<\/a> to merge wallet data. According to Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin, the best result would be achieved by <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/vitalik-buterin-proposed-using-zk-snarks-to-verify-exchange-reserves\">applying zk-SNARKs<\/a> technology.<\/p>\n<p>In early November, amid the <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/ftx-group-files-for-bankruptcy-sam-bankman-fried-resigns-as-ceo\">collapse of FTX<\/a>, the exchange <a href=\"https:\/\/u1f987.com\/en\/news\/binance-discloses-details-of-its-cryptocurrency-reserves\">revealed information<\/a> about its own cryptocurrency reserves.
